“Healing is the process of restoring yourself, so that you may grow into a more enlightened version of yourself. Not because you are not whole, but because you are infinite.

Your healing is not underminded by the pain you have experienced. Your healing is yours alone. Your experiences may help shape you as a person, but they don’t own you. You are allowed to decide on the person you grow into.

You create yourself, within your own healing journey.”

body work is

Body work has been around in different forms for as long as we’ve had body’s. Quite often we can relate to feeling more refreshed or relaxed after a massage, but what are we really achieving when we release our muscles?

Body work benefits include

  • Increasing blood and lymph flow through the body

  • Helping waste in our tissues make their way out of stuck muscles and out of our bodies

  • Reduction in stress levels

  • Stimulation of energy release and flow within the body

  • Better sleep quaility

  • Nervous system regulation (reduction in our stress hormones

  • SO many more…

Our body work sessions include cupping, postural assessment & movement analysis. Cupping creates a negative pressure in the tissues and encourages increased blood flow, decreased pain sensation, reduced stress & tension within the muscles.

These are not traditional massages. If you’re seeing more traditional massage approach we know some wonderful people locally in Glasgow that we’d be happy to recommend. Just reach out!

Questions

  • All treatments are tailored to the individual at the time of the session. The sessions themselves will have ain individual consult at the time of appointment. Cupping is the process of creating a negative pressure between the surface of the skin & the structures below. They can be left in place, or used with dynamic movement to warm the energy & tissues below.

Please note, this is not a traditional massage. This * is * a hands on treatment & does require skin contact unlike other bodywork practices like Shaitsu.

  • You absolutely don’t have to add cupping to your massage. This is something we can talk through on the day. If you’re nervous about receiving cupping therapy Tahlee can talk you through the best practices for using cupping, if it is appropriate and guide you into your healing at the time of the appointment.

  • I have trained in cupping from a remedial and postural perspective. Sometimes too many cups on the body can release soft tissue (muscles) to a point where we feel too unstable. Using cupping in a general or generic way (placing lots and lots on the body) without respect for the musculature/existing conditions/injuries we can leave the body with other issues. Tahlee uses cupping differently each time with each individual depending on why they are there. This is a partered session too. You’ll be guided through the whole time to make sure that you’re in control of the sensations and intensity of your session as you prefer and need.

  • Tahlee is currently training in dry needling, acupuncture and press stud needling. She’s had these treatments herself for many years and adores how it’s supported her own wellbeing.

These will be added hopefully later this year, please ask her about them at your next appointment to find out how these might be incorporated in your next session.

  • Back home in Australia the first time I saw taping was at womens beach vollyball tournaments and then at the crossfit games. Kinesio taping has many used for and outside of athete’s though! It can be used energetically to bring awareness and increase flow to an area of the body, to reduce swelling and bruising, to help with wee niggles in the body, to help correct and support your posture, to help you run! And also to help with lower back pain or belly support in pregnancy (or diastasis post natal!).

  • We release appointments on the 28th of each month and they traditionally fill within 48 hours from release. We would recommend subscribing to our email list so we can let you know when appointments are going live.

We are currently looking to expand the team, if you or you know someone that might be a good fit for our team please reach out at hello@thehealingbody.co
